 A man was allegedly in constant touch with Pakistani intelligence for leaking sensitive information about India’s defence activities. 

Mahendra Prasad, a resident of Uttarakhand’s Almora – who was appointed as the manager of the DRDO guesthouse in Chandan area of Jaisalmer has been arrested for spying for Pakistan. 

 

 

 

Superintendent of Police, Jaisalmer, Abhishek Shivhare said:

He was detained on Monday. A joint interrogation will be conducted today.”

DRDO Manager Mahendra Prasad arrested – The DRDO conducts tests & trials of missiles and weapons in Pokharan firing range in Jaisalmer. However, officials & experts involved stays in the guesthouse. 

 

 

Inspector General of Police CID (Security) Vishnukant mentioned that keeping in mind the upcoming Independence Day Celebrations – an intensified surveillance is done to avoid any possible anti-national activities by foreign agents.

While monitoring, it was found that Mahendra Prasad was in contact with the Pakistani intelligence agency via social media channels.
