Saaniya Chandhok Biography: Who is Saaniya Chandhok?

Saaniya Chandhok Biography: Saaniya is the granddaughter of Mumbai industrialist Ravi Ghai. She got into the limelight recently for getting engaged with Scahin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun Tendulkar. 

Saaniya Chandhok Family

Saaniya Chandhok belongs to the family of industrialist Ravi Ghai, whose family owns the InterContinental hotel and Brooklyn Creamery. Saaniya keeps a low public profile and comes from a renowned business background. 

Education 

Saaniya Chandhok has studied at The Cathedral & John Connon School. After that, she went to BD Somani International School. Then, she went to The London School of Economics and Political Science – LSE, which she started back in 2019. 

 

Occupation 

Saaniya Chandhok is a founder at MR. PAWS, which is a pet spa and store. It is a store with a special approach towards canine skincare and wellbeing. It is the first pet spa in India to offer treatments ranging from Korean Microbubbles therapy, to CO2 Japanese hydrotherapy for cats and dogs. 

 

Saaniya acts as a Designated Partner and Director at the Mumbai-based pet nutrition and welfare firm Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP. 

 

 

Saaniya Chandhok is also a certified Veterinary Technician from WVS having completed her ABC programme. 

 

 

After completing her studies in business management from the London School of Economics, she saw an opportunity in the growing pet industry in iIndia. Hence, she started premium pet care services in Mumbai, India. 

 

 

Combining her entrepreneurial vision with her passion for animal love and care – Saaniya Chandhok started MR. PAWS – a premium pet salon spa and store in Mumbai, India. 

 

Saaniya Chandhok’s Father 

Saaniya Chandhok’s father’s name is Gaurav Ghai. Her grandfather is Ravi Ghai, who is the chairman of Graviss Group, and the Ghai family own the InterContinental hotel in Mumbai and the ice cream brand, Brooklyn Creamery.  

 

 

As per the reports, Ravi Ghai, Saaniya Chandhok’s grandfather has a feud with his son, Gaurav Ghai, Saaniya Chandhok’s father. 

Saaniya Chandhok Biography: Engagement/Fiancee 

Arjun Tendulkar, Sachin Tendulkar’s 25-year-old son got engaged to Saaniya Chandhok in an intimate ceremony attended only by close friends and family on August 13, 2025.  

 

Amid the engagement reports, Arjun Tendulkar continues to forge a cricket career. He is truly living up to his father’s legacy. Currently, Arjun plays as a left-arm seamer and represents Goa at the domestic level. 

Neither the Ghai or Tendulkar family has released an official statement in regards to the engagement. Arjun Tendulkar’s last instagram story was – him doing bowling practice with a caption – “Just Cricket Ground.”

Saaniya Chandhok’s Family Controversy 

Ravi Ghai, Saaniya Chandhok’s grandfather has a family feud  with his son, Gaurav Ghai. Ravi had earlier filed a complaint in Mumbai’s Marine Drive Police station – accusing his son, Gaurav of forging his signature (committing a fraud) – taking complete control of Ravi’s company apart from ending his monthly allowances as well. 

 

Ravi stated in complaint that Gaurav Ghai did this fraud while Ravi was undergoing cancer treatment.

In Ravi’s complaint, he shared:

My sign misused for supplementary family settlement. I have four children. My wife is Gita Ghai, and my children’s names are Gaurav Ghai, Gaurika Ghai, Ravina Ghai, and Gayatri Ghai. Gita currently lives with my son. I own a business under the name Graviss Group, which includes Graviss Hospitality Pvt Ltd and Graviss Food Solutions Pvt Ltd. I was the 100% owner of these companies. I restructured my business in 2001, and I am the founder of this business.”

Ravi Ghai even claimed that on his return to India after cancer treatment – Gaurav and Sunita would come for his signatures on some business documents. Ravi was undergoing a serious treatment and didn’t suspect his son. 

Ravi simply signed the documents, without examining them properly. 

 

 

Even 12.5 lakh for his treatment, which Ravi was earlier receiving, stopped from January 2025. 

Ravi stated that:

I did not suspect my son or his wife, nor did I have the physical or mental condition to suspect what was happening. After that, in January 2025, I did not get any money from Gaurav. When I asked, he said, ‘Wait a bit, the money will come’. Till April I did not receive any money. My chief financial officer Farangilal Baburam Goyal told me that he has come to know that Gaurav has made himself the self-proclaimed chairman of the company and has taken full control of my company.”
