Chef Sanjeev Kapoor has been in the cooking and how-to-cook business for years now. He is counted amongst one of the topmost chefs in India.
Recently, he appeared on journalist Vir Sanghvi’s podcast Culinary Culture. Chef revealed that he has repeatedly turned down the MasterChef India offer first made to him. And, the reason for rejecting this offer was simply because he wanted to be paid more than actor Akshay Kumar.
I told them that if you want me on the show, you have to pay me more than Akshay Kumar,” he recalled.
He revealed that he told them very clearly,
I am not coming. I will not do it.”
Soon, the video went viral on social media, and people were agreeing with Sanjeev Kapoor on rejecting the offer and not being paid more than Akshay Kumar. It has been years of contribution and experience in this industry, for which he should have been paid more.
