Career

Sharmin Segal did her acting course at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, New York. She always wanted to be a doctor, however, pursued theatre while she was in her 11th standard. Segal used to visit the sets of Devdas and always used to cry and demand to sit on Aishwarya’s lap. 

Sharmin started her career as an assistant director for the movie Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013. She was also working as an assistant director for movies, Bajirao Mastani (2015) Mary Kom (2014), and Gangubai Kathiawadi in 2022. 

In 2019, Sharmin made her debut opposite Meezaan Jafri. Segal even received a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut nomination for her performance.

In 2022, Sharmin Segal was seen in ZEE5’s Atithi Bhooto Bhava, where she played the role of an air hostess, Netra Banerjee opposite Pratik Gandhi. In 2024, Sharmin was seen in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, which was streamed on Netflix. She played the role of poetess Alamzeb opposite actor Taha Shah Badussha.
