3. Rhea Chakraborty Arrested by the NCB

After three days of consecutive interrogation by the NCB, and after agreeing to the acceptance of involvement in a drug case, Rhea Chakraborty was arrested on 7 September 2020. The drugs case was the reason why she has been arrested. Rhea Chakraborty was arrested in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput Case by NCB and sent to 14-day judicial custody.

On this Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey said,

“Rhea Chakraborty is totally exposed in the sense that she had a connection with drug peddlers. This has been established, that is why she has been arrested. The Narcotics Control Bureau must have found evidence against her. Three agencies are probing the matter. Let them do their job. Findings of NCB came to the fore, Rhea Chakraborty was arrested, there was a furore in the country. ED and CBI are still probing, findings will come and they will be alarming. I think Sushant will get justice.”

Rhea Chakraborty is in ‘Byculla Prison’ since 7 September 2020 and has been put into a single cell, which has no ceiling fan or a bed. Rhea’s cell is adjacent to Indrani Mukerjea in Byculla Jail, who was suspected of murdering her daughter, ‘Sheena Bora.’ Rhea Chakraborty’s cell is continuously being guarded by two guards in three shifts.

After Rhea’s arrest, her lawyer, Satish Maneshinde (as per PTI) said:

Once we get a copy of the order passed by the special NDPS court, we will decide next week on further course of action and about approaching the Bombay High Court.”
